This debut solo album from the Garfields Birthday front man is a power-pop treasure chest of delights. After singing and playing bass guitar with the indie-pop stalwarts since the mid 90s, and becoming their reluctant front man in 2005 after the departure of founding member James Laming, Simon Felton finally came of age with the release of his first “proper” solo album in May 2009.

It’s hard to imagine the self-deprecating Simon of a few years back asking Californian cult-superstar Anton Barbeau and West Country psych-pop legend Alan Strawbridge to not only produce, but also play on his debut solo outing! The result almost sounds like a band that have been performing together for ages - the truth is the entire album was recorded in six days and on a very tight budget; relying on the strength of the songs and the chemistry of the players to shine through!
